Round robin calculator

Enter your legs and pick the parlay sizes. The calculator counts the parlays, totals your risk and shows the payout for any mix of wins, pushes and losses.

Parlay sizes

Pick one size or several. By 2s on four legs builds every 2-leg parlay.

How to use the calculator

Legs, sizes, stake

01

Enter your legs

Add three to eight picks with the odds your book shows. Mark a leg as a push or a loss to grade a finished ticket.

02

Pick the parlay sizes

By 2s builds every 2-leg parlay. Pick several sizes to stack them, the way a bet slip does.

03

Read the risk

Your stake applies to each parlay. The table shows how many legs must win before the ticket turns a profit.

What you are buying

A round robin is a bundle of parlays

A round robin looks like one bet on the slip. The sportsbook records every parlay as its own bet, each with its own stake and its own house edge. Four picks by 2s is six 2-leg parlays, so a $10 stake puts $60 at risk.

The bundle softens the swings, since one loss no longer sinks the ticket. The cost per dollar stays the cost of the parlay size you pick. A round robin of 2-leg parlays loses money at the 2-leg parlay rate on picks without an edge, no matter how many legs you add.

The formulas

How a round robin pays

parlays = C(legs, size), summed over each size
risk = parlays × stake per parlay
each parlay = stake × product of its legs
win = decimal odds, push = 1, loss = 0
return = sum over every parlay

Example: four legs at -110 by 2s, $10 each

  1. Parlays: C(4, 2) = 6, so the risk is $60
  2. Each 2-leg parlay: $10 × 1.909 × 1.909 = $36.45
  3. Three legs win: 3 parlays cash for $109.34, a profit of $49.34
  4. Two legs win: 1 parlay cashes for $36.45, a loss of $23.55

How many parlays a round robin builds

The parlay count for each number of legs and each parlay size. Multiply by your stake for the total risk.

A dash marks a size larger than the leg count. A size equal to the leg count is one full parlay.

Four legs at -110 by 2s, $10 per parlay

Six parlays and $60 at risk. What the ticket returns for each number of winning legs.

Every leg at -110, so the result depends only on how many legs win.

FAQ

Common questions

How does a round robin bet work?

A round robin splits your picks into every parlay of the size you choose. Four teams by 2s builds six 2-leg parlays. Your stake applies to each parlay, so $10 by 2s on four teams risks $60.

How many parlays are in a round robin?

The number of combinations of your legs at each size. 4 legs by 2s is 6 parlays, 5 legs by 3s is 10, and 6 legs by 2s is 15. Pick more than one size and the counts add together.

How many legs need to win for a round robin to profit?

The answer turns on the odds and the sizes. Four -110 legs by 2s with $10 on each parlay lose $23.55 with two winners and win $49.34 with three. The table under the calculator shows the result for every number of winners.

What happens when a leg pushes in a round robin?

The pushed leg drops out of its parlays, and those parlays pay at the odds of their other legs. A parlay made only of pushes returns its stake.

Is a round robin better than one parlay?

A round robin trades a smaller top payout for partial coverage, since one loss no longer sinks the whole ticket. The book's margin per dollar matches the parlay size you pick, so 2-leg parlays carry the 2-leg house edge.
